The Real Baptism of the Holy Spirit

Young Christians these days are confronted by much confusion on the teaching of the Holy Spirit and how He baptises, fills and anoints God’s people. Contradictory statements and clashing ideas flow from a new generation of anecdotal-style books.

Is there a second blessing or baptism of the Spirit after conversion? Is the believer meant to struggle against sin, or does the Spirit sanctify by grace? What is the witness of the Spirit? And what is meant by the filling of the Spirit? Here are answers to all such questions with ‘proof texts’.

Ideal for all, especially new believers and study groups.

A revised version of Only One Baptism of the Holy Spirit (1994).

This is a short and easy to read book by Peter Masters. He deals very simply and clearly with the issue of spirit baptism. Key passages from the book of Acts are looked at including the events at Pentecost, the Samaritans in Acts 8, and the Ephesians in Acts 19. From careful examination of Scripture, Masters shows that spirit baptism occurs once in the life of a Christian, as they are all baptised in one spirit into Christ. I found this book very helpful in explaining some key biblical passages and teachings. I’m sure many others will too.
