Will God Pay the Debt?

Here are the consequences of a materialistic life, and the great release from turning to the Lord.

How Believing Gets Us to God

Paul provides us with all the reasons why salvation must be through faith, and not by our good works.

No Conversion Without Repentance

Why God’s true message, a simple, exclusive plan of salvation, is entered by repentance.

The Instinct and Urge to Pray

So much prayer is distasteful to God. The human instinct to pray should lead us to peace with God.

Christ’s Most Famous Call

Nothing can compare with the call of Christ to radical change, requiring a response made so easy.

The Soul – A Mysterious Entity

Here is a remarkable appeal by Moses to the people of his time about the way to connect with God.

Fall Away from Worship

The outcome of ‘nominal’ belief is inevitably a turning away from God’s prescribed worship.

Conversion Delivers You from a Costly Life

Here are the tremendous differences between the materialistic life and the Christian experience of life.

Four Elements of Faith

If an encounter with God, or reconciliation, comes by faith (trust) what does this exactly involve?

The Appointment with Death

Christ’s parable of the vineyard tenants contains a life-saving message for us.

To Miss the Love of God

Here is the work of Christ, and how His love may be tasted and proved.

God’s Plan for the World

David’s last prayer is one of the most remarkable and detailed prophecies of the Old Testament.

The Lord Jesus Christ said: ‘Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.’

‘Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.’

(Matthew 11.28-29; John 6.37)

The deeper things of life are so easily crowded out today. Here at the Metropolitan Tabernacle we cater for the needs of the soul.

Permit me, as a pastor for many years, to plead with you not to let the ultimate meaning and purpose of life pass you by. True fulfilment and happiness depends on knowing who we are, and knowing the Lord, our Creator. Don’t let yourself be swept away, programmed and ruled by the shallow things of materialism and hedonism. We need God and one day we must give account to Him.
