Earthquake Relief in Colombia

Background

The Tabernacle supports two men in Colombia. Cesar Garcia is pastor of Iglesia Bautista Gracia Redentora (Redeeming Grace Baptist Church), Pereira. He and his wife left the Tabernacle in September 2013 to pioneer in the city of Pereira in the west of Colombia.

In April 2026, Cesar Rengifo and his wife Yaneth, members of the Metropolitan Tabernacle, returned to their home country of Colombia to plant a church in the city of Armenia, some 20 miles south of Pereira.

They recently rented a meeting place and held their first service on Sunday 9th August, which was attended by four visitors.

Earthquake relief work

On Monday 10^th August, Colombia was struck by a magnitude 7.4 earthquake, causing loss of life and considerable damage in Pereira, and also affecting Armenia.

The Tabernacle has sent funds for food and essential supplies that our brothers will distribute to believers in need. Supplies will also be distributed by a pastor who has a large outreach Sunday School in an affected area, with many of the children coming from very poor families.

Please pray for those affected by the earthquake, for relief from suffering, that the work of the Gospel will be able to proceed without hindrance, and that many will turn to the Saviour.
